How we can help Helping in Pregnancy and Early Years Preparing for baby Preparing for baby The news that a baby is on the way can be exciting but scary. Some parents need a little extra support to get ready for their new arrival and we are here to help. Preparing for Baby is our six week programme that prepares you to become a parent from pregnancy to the birth of your child. The programme covers the baby’s development in the womb and what to expect during labour. We also cover the important basics of the first few weeks such as bathing, breastfeeding and local health and support networks available. A Bump Buddy is a volunteer who can support you and are there to listen and help practically and emotionally until you decide the support is no longer required. Our volunteers take the lead from you and provide a reliable, sensitive and confidential service. Baby’s Here is our four week programme for you and your new born baby. It covers topics for the first important stage of their baby’s life including thinking about parenting styles, dealing with baby’s development and protecting the baby. We do offer these services free of charge in some areas, so please contact us to find out if you are eligible.
