Poverty Proofing Practice Adviser

Hours: A normal working week is 37 hours. However due to the varied nature of the duties, a flexible approach will be required and may include regular overnight stays, evenings and weekends. This role is fixed term until 31st October 2022.

Salary: £32,491 to £34,379 per annum. 

Are you passionate about challenging and changing the negative impact of poverty on children and young people? We're looking for an excellent communicator, manager, innovator and experienced trainer to join our head office team.

Over the next three years, Children North East will be working in partnership with Child Poverty Action Group (CPAG) to extend its Cost of the School Day Scotland project to England and Wales and further expanding work in Scotland.

This is a new three year post based in our Head Office in Newcastle. The role will provide quality assurance of
our Poverty Proofing model on a new National Lottery funded programme headed by the Child Poverty Action Group, Cost of the School Day Initiative.

As this role will work across a wide geographical span, there will be regular travel across England, Wales and Scotland. The aim of the role is to ensure that ‘Cost of the School Day’ practitioners are delivering the Children North East Poverty Proofing Model consistently across the areas that they will work in.
