Guests at our biggest fundraiser of the year, the Sandcastle Ball, got a privileged peek at our specially commissioned film.

It highlights three real-life stories of children and young people who have been helped by Children North East and the emotive pencil animation was specially created for us by Tyneside company, Pixx Media.

The video is partly voiced by young people who have received support from us – one of them, ten-year-old Taylor Lee-Wilson, was at the Sandcastle Ball with his mum, Sally, to see the film’s launch. Taylor, who is a talented magician and member of Marron Theatre Arts Centre in Blaydon also entertained guests as they arrived with his mesmerising card tricks.

The glittering event at Newcastle’s Crowne Plaza Hotel, hosted by BBC Newcastle’s Anna Foster, raised more than £17,000 towards helping children and their families in the region.
