We've responded to the Government's call for consultation on their approach to their Loneliness Strategy.

Our approach is based on what the staff who work with young people here at Children North East say, as well as responses from our own Loneliness Survey for young people last week.

Our response includes information on how our Peer Mentoring projects help tackle loneliness:

Firstly, peer mentoring is an effective initiative to tackle loneliness amongst young people. It provides young people with individual support which is attuned to their specific needs. It works for vulnerable and lonely young people who are the furthest away from seeking support because they lack of confidence, family problems, mental health issues etc.
