Hours: 37 hours a week

Salary: Children North East scale points 33-38 (£30,151 - £34,379). Progression beyond bar 36 will be determined by possession of a relevant professional qualification at level 5.

The Campaigner will support our campaigning against injustices experienced by children and young people by inspiring people, changing practice and altering government policy. As a long established and respected local charity Children North East has the potential to lead effective campaigns to right injustices experienced by children and young people. The Trustees wish to expand this aspect of the charity’s impact.

The post holder will have day to day responsibility for planning, executing and evaluating the effectiveness of campaigns under the direction of the Operations Director.

You will have proven commitment to children's rights and understanding of services for and legislation about children, young people and families, and the ability to engage effectively with children and young people. Ideally you will also have experience of successfully campaigning against injustice.

This new post will be accountable to the Operations Director. You must be able to collaborate with colleagues inside the charity including the Communications Team to identify, develop and deliver effective campaigns. You will have excellent diplomacy and communication skills and will work with external stakeholders who share our aims.
