Investors in People Silver

The Investors in People sets out how the very best organisations manage, develop and lead their people.  Children North East has met the requirements of the Investors in People VI generation framework at an Established level, corresponding the the Silver Accreditation.  This enables Children North East to be confident that they invest in their people.  Every assessment is an opportunity for all staff to get their voices heard and shape the future of the organisation.  It’s a powerful way to ensure the organisation invests and recognises the skills and talent staff bring to the workplace.

Our assessment said:

Leaders within Children North East should be rightly proud of the way in which they seek to invest in and support their people, as this has resulted in a culture where people at all levels are aware of what the organisation is aiming to achieve and who understand how to help it to reach its objectives and ambitions

CPD Accreditation

Children North East has been officially recognised as an Accredited Provider with the CPD Standards Office.  The accreditation recognises our high standards of integrity and professionalism.

This means that we can now submit details of courses, training sessions or conferences we deliver for professionals to the CPD Standards Office for accreditation.  Once the course has been accredited it will be allocated CPD points by the CPD Standards Office and course delegates will then be issued with a CPD Certificate of Attendance by Children North East for inclusion in their CPD records for their professional body, institute, regulator or employer.

The first course that we have had accredited is the NEWPIP - Newcastle Infant Mental Health Course Early Intervention with Babies and their Parents and we are delighted to be able to offer participants CPD points to validate their learning.

Investors in Volunteer

Investing in Volunteers (IiV) is the UK quality standard for good practice in volunteer management.  It assists the organisation in continually improving the quality of its volunteer management and involvement, it proves and improves the effectiveness of our work with volunteers, and enhances the organisation's reputation to attract more volunteers.  It shows volunteers and potential volunteers how much they are valued and gives them confidence in the organisations ability to provide an outstanding volunteer experience.

CHAS

This demonstrates Children North East’s commitment to improving the safety of our organisation on all our sites.  Being CHAS accredited also demonstrates that the organisation has demonstrated compliance and that adequate systems are in place in regards to Health and Safety incorporating specialist procedures & training for safety equipment/safe systems of work & material installation.

Disability Confident Employer

The Disability Confident scheme aims to help Children North East make the most of the opportunities provided by employing disabled people.  It is voluntary and has been developed by employers and disabled people’s representatives.

We have a strong social conscious, hence the reason we were one of the top three organisations in the north east region to become a living wage employer.  Our values and ethos are strongly linked with that of the Living Wage Foundation.
