One in four children and young people in the North East live below the official poverty line. Children North East believes it is not fair or right that they don’t get the same chances and breaks as their peers.
Imagine never being able to go on a school trip, not having anywhere safe to play, going without meals and warm clothes, feeling embarrassed or scared to bring your friends home, or having to care for parents with mental health or other problems.
Children North East is North East England’s very own children’s charity. For 125 years we have been transforming the lives of disadvantaged children so that they have a better chance in life.
132,000 children in the North East are officially living in poverty. Improving their quality of life takes money, time and perseverance.
Please help Children North East achieve our vision of all north east children and young people growing up healthy and happy. Read on to find out how you can get involved and support us to make a difference.
