News News Youngsters flourish during packed summer programme Our Young People's service has had a packed summer programme to support our young people throughout the summer holidays. The project, runs afternoon and evening groups throughout the year and developed its summer programme to create enriching experiences for disadvantaged young people. Free activities have been running throughout the summer including trips to the cinema and Flamingo Land, an outdoor activity residential and a visit to Edinburgh Zoo. The summer programme helps to encourage relationship building as well as offering information and advice on a range of topics such as mental health, sexual health, education and training. Lynn Renwick, Service Manager, said: The success of our weekly drop-ins at WEYES, together with the support received from Awards for All, Big Lottery Fund, has meant we’ve been able to put on a packed summer programme this year. It’s great for us to be able to provide more support and activities throughout the summer holidays to help young people access new experiences, develop life skills, improve their emotional development and become more active citizens in their communities.
