We were delighted to attend the 2018 People’s Postcode Lottery annual Charity Gala where it was announced that £93.4 million was awarded to charities and good causes in 2017 – thanks to players of People’s Postcode Lottery.

We received an incredible £350,000 in 2017 alone helping us make a difference for 3,504 children, young people and families through our projects including our Caring Dads Programme.

The Caring Dads programme here at Children North East challenges fathers about their behaviour at home and the long term damage to health and wellbeing that domestic abuse has on their children

The gala was a celebration of the phenomenal achievements of charities working across Great Britain and internationally that are supported by players of People’s Postcode Lottery. The lottery also took the opportunity to announce an increase to 32% of each ticket sale going directly to good causes. The news of the funding total and increase was shared at the annual event, on Tuesday 23 January, at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh.

The event was attended by Actor Emma Thompson, broadcaster Dermot Murnaghan and TV presenter Fiona Philips with entertainment on the night provided by Heather Small.

Jeremy Cripps, our Chief Executive, said: “The Gala was such a fantastic and inspiring event to celebrate the amazing achievements that players of People’s Postcode Lottery have enabled.  We want to say a huge thank you to the players for their continued support.”
