News and events Events Sandcastle Challenge 2018 Our Sandcastle Challenge is a way to remember our early days and to help us raise awareness and funds for the work we do today. In 2017 over 1,500 primary school children from all over the region teamed up with creative minds from a variety of professions to take part in the biggest beach event in the north east, if not the UK! Each school is assigned a ‘professional’ partner who is encouraged to visit the school before the event to speak to the children, discuss their ideas around the theme and work with them to see how these ideas could be recreated in the sand. For Schools: This event offers you an opportunity to be part of a really great fun day out and a chance to win a £200 prize for your school! We ask schools to enter a maximum of 4 teams (15 children per team). The aim of the day is for everyone to have fun and many schools use this event as their summer trip or as a reward day out to pupils who have achieved well over the year. The cost to enter is £1.25 per child. To enter your school in the 2018 Sandcastle Challenge fill out the School Entry Form and return to us by 25th May 2018. After this date, we will send you a competition pack including full instructions and timings for the day and let you know the name of your allocated professional partner for you to make contact. For Professionals: We ask an entry fee of £75 to enter as many ‘professionals’ as you can spare – as the volume of schools increases we really have to work hard to find a match for everyone. The Sandcastle Challenge offers: a day away from the pressures of the office interaction with schools from all over the region networking opportunities team building fulfilling your CSR responsibilities supporting a good cause an ideal opportunity to promote your brand – this event attracts a lot of media interest FUN at one of the best events of the year! To enter your company in the 2018 Sandcastle Challenge fill out the Professional Entry Form.
