The Simplyhealth Great North Run is the world’s most popular half marathon, with over 50,000 runners each year. The spectator-lined course covers 13.1 miles from Newcastle, across the iconic Tyne Bridge, through Gateshead and onto a picturesque coastal finish in South Shields. The run is broadcast live on BBC TV and has live music en route, on course refreshment and thousands of cheering supporters helping to keep you motivated every step of the way – the atmosphere on race day is electric.

2020 is the 40th year of this fantastic run and to celebrate we've dropped our registration fee to £40, so be part of something iconic for #TeamCNE, here's how:

Run with a Children North East place

Our charity places are now full.  We are happy to have you as part of a reserve list, so please do get in touch if you'd still like to be part of the team.

The cost of each place is £40 and we ask you to raise a minimum sponsorship of £300.

Run with your own place

You can register for your own place on the Great Run website.  Places aren't open yet, but you can register to receive a reminder when the ballot opens here.  If you are one of the lucky ones who do manage to get your own place, we would love to have you as part of #TeamCNE.

There is no registration fee or minimum fundraising target if you have your own place, we just ask that you raise as much as you can to help support children in our region.

Join the team!

What do you get?

For all our runners we provide a Children North East branded running vest, a sponsorship pack along with support on how to reach your fundraising target as well as a regular newsletter with training tips, news and updates.

How do I register as part of #TeamCNE?
