People’s Postcode Lottery is a charity lottery in Great Britain. Players play with their postcodes to win cash prizes whilst raising money for charities and good causes. A minimum of 27.5% will be awarded to charities.

Players of People’s Postcode Lottery have the chance to win a prize every day:

  • In 2016, there’ll be Postcode Millions draws every month, each with a massive £2 Million prize fund.
  • Each day, Monday to Friday, winning tickets in 5 postcodes scoop £1,000 each with the Daily Prize.

Since 2007 the players of People’s Postcode Lottery have raised £953,369 for Children North East which has helped us, amongst many other things, to do the following:

  • provide childcare and family support to families living in temporary homeless accommodation.
  • train and support volunteers to work with families going through a difficult time
  • support young people living in some of the region’s most socially deprived areas
  • form nurture groups that help parents to teach personal hygiene, social skills and healthy eating to their children

People’s Postcode Lottery saves our counselling service

We’re celebrating after our counselling service for young people in Newcastle has been saved.

The counselling service was due to close on 31st March when a grant from Newcastle City Council came to an end. Thanks to £25,000 from the Players of People’s Postcode Lottery, the service and counsellors jobs have been saved, whilst the charity applied for more sustainable funds.

Mums to be Buddy up for Support

Mums-to-be in Gateshead in need a bit of extra support, are learning about bonding with their baby and meeting their needs through a new project that provides them with a volunteer Buddy throughout their pregnancy.

We helped spread the love on Valentine’s Day

In the run up to the big day, our WEYES project promoted self-esteem and positive relationships.

The project set up love stalls at various North East 6th Forms and Colleges to help spread the love as well as providing information and handing out ‘Love Yourself’ gift sets.

Funding Milestone reached in historic year

We are delighted to announce that players of People’s Postcode Lottery have awarded an extra £1.425 million to long-term supported charities. We are one of 57 charities that will receive the extra £25,000 award from players of the charity lottery.

This year we celebrate an amazing 125 years

Newcastle City Library was the setting for our celebration of 125 years.

We began life in 1891 as the Poor Children’s Holiday Association (PCHA) and have been working tirelessly supporting children, young people and families in the north east ever since.
