Helping Families and Parents

Family plays an essential role in children’s emotional, social and physical development and a happy family life will make for happier children. Over the last 125 years we have strived to strengthen and empower families who are in crisis and need support by providing services to help them deal with issues they face and enabling them to learn new skills and confidence to tackle life’s problems.

We support families with children who find themselves struggling with issues like depression, debt or isolation. Intensive support is also provided to families in crisis to prevent children and young people being taken into care due to substance misuse or domestic abuse within their family.

Over the last 125 years we have also specialised in work to recognise and encourage the role of fathers and male carers in family life and encourage the role of men in children and young people’s development and lives.
